Vinvent van Gogh has been a huge inspiration of mine, through my art and my passion for art history. I have made a lot of projects based off of his artwork. I have made my own artwork with inspiration from his sketches and use of linework.
The impression artists have made a large stamp on my work, I’m constantly looking back to view their artwork. I feel like Van Gogh is also a great artist as an educator to introduce. His work without context is very striking and light.
As a child I remember his work being an obsession of mine. Especially after going to the MOMA to see The Starry Night in person. His story was one that I read up on. Learning more about his life made him even more appealing to me. I resonate with his story, having family members who struggle with mental health. All together his story and artwork to me make him one of the patron saints of Art History for all ages.
